About the Epikouria Foundation

What we do

Epikouria Foundation has Bible and discipleship courses developed and translated, and makes them available free of charge – see Courses. The courses are distributed by radio, in cooperation with Trans World Radio (for example in Iran), and online through dota.net, betacursus.nl and deltacursus.nl. We also give gifts of encouragement to people who translate and distribute our material at their own expense, for example in Kurdish and Chinese.

Our History

  1. 1985 The Epikouria Foundation is established.
  2. 1993 DOTA begins: the first books are distributed and radio broadcasts in Chinese start.
  3. 2004 Decision to add more languages to English and Chinese, starting with Farsi. The first Farsi book appears that autumn, the twelfth in 2006.
  4. 2008 Betacursus starts.
  5. 2009 Deltacursus starts.
  6. 2024 All donations now go to the foundation’s own work.

For many years, the foundation also donated to other organisations: Wycliffe (literacy projects and Bible translation), HEART Youth Crisis Centre (educational projects in South Africa) and YfC EMENA (care for young people in poor countries and countries affected by war). This was stopped in 2024, so that the decreasing donations could go entirely to developing and translating courses. How donations are spent is explained under Finances.
